Fit Bit One Pedometer Review "Sitting too much could kill you!" Which is why I have recently become a big fan of one of the best pedometers on the market -- the FitBit. It's true, if you sit on your butt too much (low step count), you are more likely to get fat, sick and (according to the latest research), die younger. If you are physically active (high step count), you are more likely to get leaner, healthier and live longer. The FitBit not only counts steps taken, it also measures elevation (for hikers of apartment dwellers) and calories burned, and works well on treadmills and bikes. I have one...and love it. Well, as we know from BFFM, burning fat is all about creating a calorie deficit. The only way to create a calorie deficit is to burn more calories than you consume. Walking more is one way to increase the number of calories you burn each day. It has been said that we only improve what we actually measure.
