Ed Frank, Contributor and Forum Moderator

Ed Frank, Ph.D., NASM-CPT is a physicist with a lifetime passion for science, fitness, and endurance sports. Ed's science background spans particle physics, computational science, bioenergy, and large multidisciplinary project development. He combines these skills with his Certified Personal Trainer expertise to help people refine their goals into progressive, meaningful steps that provide a truly executable plan.

Presently, Ed is sharing his experience in training hard after major heart surgery to illustrate that obstacles can be overcome and often provide opportunities for learning and growth.

Ed has bicycled the Pacific Coast from Seattle through northern California, hiked the Appalachian Trail through New England, and has pursued fitness and physique goals including cutting from over 20% fat to 7% with the BFFM program. Ed is also interested in how athletics and coaching skills carry over to professional settings and vice versa.
